Cheat mode enabling:
To enable cheat mode in a game you should start it
(ALONE4.EXE) with 'wizardmaster' or 'WIZARDMASTER'
(no quotes) option in command line.
Then when you enter the inventory, you will see the
cheat menu there.
Bug Exploitation: "Infinite Saves":
As Carnby, when you leave the lobby of the manor, a
cutscene begins and you meet Edenshaw. At the end of
the cutscene he gives you a charm of saving.
If you save immediately after the cutscene ends,
then reload, the cutscene will begin again. Repeat.
You will gain 4 saves each time.
Hex Cheat:
Open the savegame _alone4_.XXX.sav with a hexeditor.
Remember to have written down how much ammo you have
in the game. As this far, it seems, that (unlike
Resident Evil) each item has a special place, so you
cant find the items by their code, but only by
searching for the number of ammo. Each item has four
spaces. You should start searching for them from
address 0160 to address 01A0 (and maybe further).
You can only hex ammo-packages, charms of saving and
med packs (not weapons or their ammo ... so if you
havent picked up any extra ammo for a weapon, you wont

How to get 32,000 body points:
Right from where you start in the house, collect the poison in the kitchen
by the dumb waiter, and from the work surface in the kitchen. Make the
poisoned wine and drink it, then hold the Enter button until it is back
onto the inventory and actions list.
Your body points display will be at least minus 1000 Repeat this process
until the minus disappears and you'll be left with approximately 32,000
body points. To enhance this, and to stop yourself from getting drunk at
the end of the process, collect the frying pan beforehand and when you have
32000 body points, use it!
To bump up your life points to a healthy 200, edit your savegame file
(called SAV?.ITD) were ? is the save game number: at sector 0047, byte
0056, change the value to FF.

Here is an editor cheat you can use to give your team 900 runs.
Watch out, though, if you carry on after using the cheat and get

first over, save the game under the name HACK, and quit back to
DOS again. Now load up your HEX editor, pop-up the file

of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the "proto.xml"
file in the "data" directory in the game folder. Note: You may first
need to uncheck the "Read Only" attribute of that file's properties
in Windows Explorer.
Search for the text "CrateOf". You will find CrateofFood, CrateofCoin,
CrateofWood, CrateofFoodLarge, CrafteofCoinLarge, and CrateofWoodLarge.
For all these entries, find the tag "InitialResourceCount" and change
the count to whatever desired. For example, the normal crates each
have "100.000" of the resources. You can change the "100" to "99999.000", etc.
Make sure you do this for all the crates; sometimes a map will give you a
large crate of something, and smaller ones of something else, etc.
This works best because every map you play in campaign or skirmish
starts you with some "crates" of resources, which your settlers will
gather out. This will edit the crates to have huge amounts of resources
in them. However, it still takes a long time to get the resources out
of the crate for the settlers, because there are so many. If you are
impatient, search for "Settler" in the "proto.xml" file and find
the tag for GatherCrate. Change the value to whatever desired,

and do the third part of the quest. After you kill the mosquito and the Trog,

This is the most fluid tennis game around and I find it the most
enjoyable to play. The computer players are tough and a little
workout in the Byte Editer Gym will give you that razor (no pun
intended) edge to your reflexes.
I haven't had the urge to program for a long time, so excuse the
down and dirty nature of this method of editing your players
attributes. I have only spent the time to locate the six main
attributes in the player file, so if you're looking to change
more you'll have to do it with your racket.
Your player is saved in a file ending with the extension .ply.
This file has alot of data in it...it saves the records of all
99 of your oponents and revises their status as well as your own
after every game. The location of your records within the file
appears to change as you move up in rank, so a simple debug
script will not work very well to edit the the desired bytes.
Therefore, I will describe a method to locate and edit them
using a hex editor, such as Norton's Disk Editor.
There are six attributes you can edit with these instructions.
To insure you are editing the correct bytes, you should write
down the current attributes of the player file you are going to
edit and convert them to hex. To list them, choose PREFERENCES
on the main menu and load the saved player. Choose the RACKET
ICON and then the BICEP ICON. The listed attributes are:
Forehand
Backhand
Forehand Volley
Backhand Volley
Smash
Service
The maximum value for these attributes is 120 (78h). You can
edit them to a value higher than 78h, but I can't say what will
happen in the game. The BONUS attribute does not have to be
edited since the game will not increase anything beyond 120.
1. First, load up your editor and the .PLY file you wish to
change. Do I have to say you should do this on a copy of the
file and not the original?
2. Do a search for the player name you gave yourself. If your
editor doesn't have a search function, look for your name at
an offset of about 3372h. Somewhere around offset 1CF0h you
should start to see the different player's names comming up.
3. The attributes start at an offset of 42 (2Ah) from the first
letter of the player's name. This should match the value you
wrote down. The attributes are in the same order they are
listed in the game and separated by a 00h byte. Just change
all six to 78h and leave the 00's alone.
As an example, say the player's attributes are 69 (45h),
68 (44h), 58 (3Ah), 55 (37h), 52 (34h) and 56 (38h). You
should see a byte string like this in your editor:

After changing all the attributes to the max of 78h, the
string will look like this:

Your racket is now strung with the best catgut there is, so give

To insure you are editing the correct bytes, you should write
down the current attributes of the player file you are going to
edit and convert them to hex. To list them, choose PREFERENCES
on the main menu and load the saved player. Choose the RACKET
ICON and then the BICEP ICON. The listed attributes are:
Forehand
Backhand
Forehand Volley
Backhand Volley
Smash
Service
The maximum value for these attributes is 120 (78h). You can
edit them to a value higher than 78h, but I can't say what will
happen in the game. The BONUS attribute does not have to be
edited since the game will not increase anything beyond 120.
1. First, load up your editor and the .PLY file you wish to
change. Do I have to say you should do this on a copy of the
file and not the original?
2. Do a search for the player name you gave yourself. If your
editor doesn't have a search function, look for your name at
an offset of about 3372h. Somewhere around offset 1CF0h you
should start to see the different player's names comming up.
3. The attributes start at an offset of 42 (2Ah) from the first
letter of the player's name. This should match the value you
wrote down. The attributes are in the same order they are
listed in the game and separated by a 00h byte. Just change
all six to 78h and leave the 00's alone.
As an example, say the player's attributes are 69 (45h),
68 (44h), 58 (3Ah), 55 (37h), 52 (34h) and 56 (38h). You
should see a byte string like this in your editor:

After changing all the attributes to the max of 78h, the
string will look like this:

Your racket is now strung with the best catgut there is, so give
alot of love with it.
For the curious, there are a couple other bytes I know of. The
BONUS byte falls into place as the seventh attribute...it
follows the 00 after the sixth attribute. The byte proceeding
the first letter of the player's name is, I believe, your
standing. I haven't had cause to verify these, so handle with
care.

You can load the backgrounds from the Aircraft Carrier into any
graphics package in the .LBM format and spray all the walls
with graffiti.
All files in the DG directory can be swapped around. Therefore you
can fly an F-16 - frigate - truck etc. by typing:

Load the game as usual and take off. Now, when you switch to

to do is run the game, open the system menu and select the Save option.
Save your game then exit. Run the game again and load up your saved
scenario. This should give you a ready made city.
